Those traveling to the Miami area may encounter a strange sight: a Chevy C7 Corvette floating on water. This unusual vehicle is the brainchild of JetCar, a company that makes boats that look like exotic cars. Recently, the Corvette jet boat has been getting a lot of attention, especially after a driver posted a YouTube video showing how it was being towed by water in Florida.
. Underneath the Corvette-shaped body is the Yamaha Marine’s 4-cylinder, 4-stroke, 1.8-liter marine engine. This allows the boat to reach a top speed of 65 mph.
In case you were wondering, the C7 Corvette is not an amphibious boat. It has a Corvette sports car body, but it only runs on water.
Florida water police tow C7 Corvette jet boat
As you can see in the YouTube video, the C7 Corvette jet boat is absolutely surreal. It sails along the water – and at times, it appears as if it is floating in mid-air. Like any real Corvette, the boat has wheels, but the wheels don’t spin as they move.
The driver featured in the video was enjoying his Corvette jet-boat, but his fun was interrupted when a Florida Wildlife Commission helicopter, smoldering sirens, chased him from above. The driver shouted, “We’re running from! We’re running! There’s a helicopter behind me!” Then he sped forward and said, “Okay, we’re going to race them, baby! Let’s go!”
Soon, a water police boat stops atop the Corvette jet-boat to investigate the matter. The driver explained, “Yeah, basically, it’s just a big old water bike – just like the really weird shape.” Then the police asked for the license and documents. After some deliberation, the police released him. Then the driver shouted: I am a free man. We have overcome the issue! ”

Customers can either buy or rent a C7 Corvette jet boat. The purchase price ranges from $46,000 to $55,000, while the rental fee is $350 per hour with a minimum of one hour of use.
The C7 Corvette convertible jet car is a two-seater design where driver and passenger sit side by side. For streaming music while on the water, there’s a Bose audio system built in with four premium speakers. Other features include windshield wipers, headlights, navigation/tail lights, and taillights.
