Does the New Ford F-150 Raptor Have a Manual Transmission? High-performance pickup trucks are very popular with many buyers – most people love them for their can-do behavior, off-road performance, and off-road luxury. A model like the new Ford F-150 is expensive, but it’s always worth it for the regular Raptor buyer. Drivers who crave speed, performance, and everything else a Raptor usually has to offer need complete control. We are talking about the use of a manual transmission. Do you own the new F-150 Raptor?

Purchasing the latest version of the software can be difficult. It is an excellent model in all its forms, so choosing the perfect replacement is a daunting task. However, those who simply want a manual transmission for the new F-150 Performance Model should look elsewhere. For 2023, a manual transmission is not available with the Ford F-150 Raptor. In fact, pre-2008, you can’t find a single F-150 that still uses a manual transmission.

The new F-150 Raptor uses a high-output 3.5-liter V6 turbocharged engine paired to a 10-speed automatic transmission. Each Raptor comes with all-wheel drive only, while other F-150s can use rear or all-wheel drive. The base Raptor engine produces 450 horsepower and 510 pound-feet of torque. Instead, the upgraded new Raptor R model uses a 5.2-liter supercharged V8 with 700 horsepower and 640 lb-ft. The Raptor R uses the same 10-speed automatic transmission and is only worth buying for those looking to up their speedometer.

Raptor vs. Raptor R

It costs $76,775 to buy a standard 2023 Ford F-150 Raptor. In addition to the basic amenities available on the F-150’s low-profile trim, the off-road model gains standard all-wheel drive, low-range gearing, 17-inch wheels, 35-inch all-terrain tires, a 36-gallon gas tank, off-road Raptor with bumper Fox adaptive shocks, Raptor flares and grille, and six gearboxes.

Upgrading to changes quite a bit. Notably, the engine is replaced by a more powerful supercharged V8, and gets 37-inch tires that are usually optional on the standard Raptor. Other than that, the Raptor R gets the same equipment as the one without the R for $109,145. It’s an expensive upgrade to get the second most powerful truck engine available from the factory. Only the Ram TRX produces more horsepower than the Ford F-150 Raptor R.

Do any new trucks have a manual transmission?

According to a previous report released, there are still only two trucks with manual transmission straight from the factory. First, the 2022 Toyota Tacoma still has an optional manual transmission. Choosing it, a 278-horsepower 3.5-liter V6 gives you the most powerful, which improves the deal. If you want a six-speed manual Tacoma, you’ll need the all-wheel drive, TRD Off-Road or TRD Pro.

The only other truck you can buy new in 2022 with a manual transmission is the 2022 Jeep Gladiator. It uses a six-speed manual transmission paired with a 3.6-liter V6 that produces 285 horsepower. Unlike the Tacoma, the Gladiator comes standard with a manual transmission on most trim levels. However, an eight-speed manual is available for buyers who choose a diesel engine.

Is the new Ford F-150 Raptor proof?

In conclusion, the new Ford Raptor and Raptor R do not use a manual transmission. No matter which version of the Raptor you choose, it will come with a standard 10-speed automatic transmission. However, both versions of the Raptor are well-equipped and offer plenty of horsepower at the right price. Additionally, for buyers tuned into a manual pickup, a Toyota Tacoma and Jeep Gladiator are available from the factory with a gearshift setting. Off-road driving is just as possible as in the Raptor, but don’t expect to get 700 horsepower out of it.
